Alyce Pollock

The summer of 2013 marked 10 years since I first stood in front of a lathe. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about how to read the tree, choose the most promising pieces. I’ve learned from many skilled turners and taught a few. But the mystery of what lies hidden inside the block of wood, the uncertainty of how much to remove, how much to leave behind, makes each attempt a new chance to turn the perfect bowl.
