Membership

You are invited to apply


OASIS Fine Art & Craft welcomes artists and artisans living in the Shenandoah Valley area to apply. Our Jury Committee meets the third Monday of each month.

Bring (or mail) the completed application and eight exhibit-ready examples of your work to OASIS to be juried. OASIS will respond with a decision and respectful feedback by the end of the month. Note: Artisans Center of Virginia juried members need only submit an application.

As a member, you will be in a supportive community, be able to show and sell your work at OASIS, take part in operating the gallery, and help enrich the lives of others via arts programs.

Join the co-op & sell your work at OASIS

Are you new to the idea of an artist co-operative?
Please talk to us! There is both effort and reward in becoming an active co-op member. Everyone is expected to pay dues and commissions, and join in and help run the gallery. But just think, your colleagues are welcoming your customers and selling your work 7 days a week! We welcome applications to our jury process from any artist or artisan in our region. You may have local or regional renown, or be an artist who has not exhibited before, or anything in between. If you are new to selling your work, we say “Start at OASIS, go anywhere!” Many members have gained the confidence at OASIS to exhibit and compete, even gaining state or national recognition.

 

As an OASIS member artist, you can:

  • Be promoted via gallery literature, newsletter, website and social media

  • Be invited to take part in special exhibit and craft demonstrations

  • Learn about running a business and what customer service is all about

  • Be part of a community that values friendship, respect and exchange of information

  • Sell at the OASIS booth at the Harrisonburg Farmers Market

  • Participate in community events as an OASIS representative

  • Teach courses at OASIS or in our outreach activities

Jurying is the 3rd Monday of each month. Applications and work to be juried are due at OASIS by the 5th of the month. The Jury Committee and the OASIS Board will critique and make a final decision. You will be informed of the decision by the end of the month.  Thank you for your interest!
