Frank Burdell

Despite taking classes in New York, Maryland, and Virginia, Frank Burdell is largely self-taught. He works and creates out of a hot shop he built, furnished with a complete collection of professional tools like furnaces, kilns, and more. Handling, shaping, and altering molten glass at about 2500 degrees Fahrenheit, Frank Burdell's work consists mostly of classic blown glass work.

In Frank's own words: "Blowing bubbles in molten glass and working in the endless color combinations has fascinated me for years. Having built my own fully functional hot shop allows me to push my limits, explore new techniques, new color combinations and strive to continuously improve. My pieces are beautiful as standalone works of art as well as functional pieces that are meant to be enjoyed."
