Photographers and poets are kindred spirits. The duty of each is to see; that is, to see what most fail to see. The poems in Earth Tones embrace wide-ranging psychological, spiritual, and scientific themes: coming of age, individuation, meditation and contemplation, ecological awareness, cosmology, and evolution. Similarly, photographs have been selected to enhance and complement the poetic themes. It is the author's hope and intent that, taken together, the words and images of this small volume might lead the resonant reader to deeper insight-centered and grounded-through deeper connection to the natural world.
